About
Wills and Estate Planning for Any Eventuality
Did you know that 60% of us in the UK have not made a Will. Well that is a worrying thought. With the
start of a new year, if you haven’t already written a Will, now is the time to make one.
The question you need to ask yourself is, "who do we like the least, our children or the Inland
Revenue??? Well I am sure that one question has just answered itself!
If you want to make sure that your money, belongings and assets, go to the people you want it to, then
you need to make that clear by writing a Will. If you don’t, the law will decide who your estate goes to,
and most probably not where you had hoped.
My responsibility as your professional estate planner is to make sure that the right money and
property, gets into the right hands, and at the right time!
Having been widowed at 40, I know how tough life can be. My late husband and I found ourselves in a
situation where we had to invite our solicitor into our home to write our Wills and Lasting Power of
Attorney. As you can imagine, it was very emotional and expensive, which brought unnecessary stress
at a time of uncertainty. We thought health wise nothing would ever happen to us, but we were wrong.
Many of us presume life is long, sadly for some it is not, and tomorrow is never promised!
My job now is to ensure that your hard earned wealth actually transfers to the next generation “directly”
without unnecessary and expensive legal bills, and the possibility of
much of it going to the wrong people and the Inland Revenue.
“Generation Wealth” transfer, now doesn't that sound better than paying
inheritance tax?
Making your Will or your Lasting Power of Attorney is not as daunting as
you may think. Once done, you can put your documents safely away, and
continue enjoying your life with "Peace of Mind" not just for you, but for
your family too.
